The= replacment >lens I received checked out wonderful on the bench test. But, there is an >obvious small dot on the rear element of the lens - it is about the size of= a >large piece of dust. It is clearly seen in bright light. (Carefull cleaning >and inspection has shown it to be in the surface coating - like a coated piece >of dust or a spat of coating). > >Obviously, I shoot pictures when there is dust on a lens. It will not show= up >on the image to any great extent. > >Am I being tooooooo picky to expect that the front and rear elements of a= new >lens should be free of obvious spot marks or bumps????? Would you accept= such >a lens? > >Thanks again, > >Pete Myers > Yes, if the lens was a "Phoenix" or maybe a "Quantaray" or even a "Samyang" I would accept. But if it is a Leica Lens and you bought New, No,no,no. You paid for a 100% quality product, You paid for a 100% quality control... You paid for a Leica Lens and you paid the happy hour beer of the Leica AG technicians... Regards, Luiz O. Marinho S=E3o Paulo - SP.
