R3's don't die.  They just keep getting sold to the next generation user.  I
have a nicely brassed (patina I think they call it) R3 and a can of OD green
paint I can make you a heck of a deal on.

Sound advice.

I just bought another as new in the box R3 (in case my old faithful R3
should ever decide to retire) for $350.  It may be a physically big camera
compared to the R4/5/6/7 but not to the R8.

The R3 is a great buy these days for a very dependable camera that uses R
lenses.
