I don't know if you have confidence in Shutterbug magazine, but for what it is
worth they did a test like this a few months ago and found no difference.  I
think they used multicoated filters.  There have also been a number of tests
by individuals reported in the rec.photo.equipment.35 newsgroup over the last
several months.  You could do a search of "filter test".  You might also check
PhotoNet.  They had some discussion and reports of tests by individuals about
this.
