Subject: [Leica] 111C problem?

HELP!!

I own an M3 and M6, and have no previous experience with LTMs. I just
bought (over internet) a 111C with 50mm, f/3.5 Elmar. It's really
beautiful and just as the seller described. All glass is clear, perfect
condition, with no pitting, shutter working, with no hanging-up at slow
speeds, etc. But I've found a problem with the rangefinder. Let's hope I
can describe it well enough for you to understand.

When I focus this cute little guy, even the most distant things do NOT
focus on infinity. Instead, I get a reading of about 20 meters, which is
the last marking on the lens before the infinity mark. Does this indicate
a problem with the rangefinder, or is there (I hope) something that I
haven't done correctly when inserting the lens? I've noticed what appears
to be an infinity mark and a lever right next to the rewind knob, but that
aappears to be a diopter corrector; nothing more. Are there rangefinder
adjustments that the user can make? If not, is this an expensive repair?

Any help would be much appreciated, as I gotta let the seller know TODAY if
I'm keeping this thing. And I don't wanna part with it- I'm in love
already......:)

Best Regards,
Rich
