I have both, and I prefer the Rapidwinder because it never needs batteries,
it is virtually silent (the winder M makes quite a lot of noise so I
wouldn't use it in public), and it is relatively small (the size of the
winder M means I couldn't get the camera in my pocket at all any more). I
would now only use the winder M (or in my case winder M4-2) if I was using
the camera on a tripod a lot and still wanted autowinding- such as when
using a long cable release, and not being concerned about the noise. Which
hasn't happened yet, but it might.
