They both have TTL capability. But the R7 is a much better camera.
Especially the fill flash mode. Though it's not anywhere near a good as the
R8. 

The R7 isn't that much bigger, it's more accurate (digital instead of
analog control) 1/2 stop shutter speeds, and a much sturdier film advance
mechanism. The R7 is selling for such a good price there's no reason to by
an R5. You get a better camera and more up to date.
