The only experience I've had was with the original made by Minolta and they
"just fell apart"!!! The glass was OK, but mechanically they are and were a
piece of junk!

I'll have the new f.4 80-200 here in a few weeks. So I'll have an
opportunity to compare to the earlier Minolta version.

I'd sure the lens you are looking at looks fine and there shouldn't be any
problem with the glass.  But I'd want it for a song and as damn little
money as I could.  If you can't get it for next to nothing, just put your
money aside and save for the up to date f.4 German made version.
