Richard, the plastic plug is removed when you adjust the rangefinder. It
requires a weird looking screwdriver thah you poke through the bottom of the
camera and connect to the focussing roller. The screwdriver is in 2 parts, a
center part that turns and the outside part holds the locking nut in place. I
made one some years ago for adjusting rangefinders on my M2's but promptly
lost it somewhere. I have never tried to do the M6 rangefinder, they seem hold
their focus better than the 25-30 + year old M2's ( Could be that the M2's
sees far more use too).
 I am looking forward to the new M6/0,85 version ( Leica has to come up with a
better name than that!)
 Your winder is almost finished, have to run some testrolls through and then
it will be shipped.
