Donal,

Ya right! :) And my Liecas leak light like a sieve! :) Even more so
without a lens! :) That's referred to as "Super flashing" before exposing
oneself. oops, "film"

You realize the big topic for the beginning of the New Year will be which
camera manufacturer has the greatest degree of "preflashing with the
shutter light bypass technology!" :)

What is going to happen is, everyone is going to be removing the lens and
looking for "pre-flash ability and amount." This will entail a technical
situation of holding a Weston meter without the dome against the curtain of
your Leica and turning on the light.

Or if you really want to fine tune the film pre-flash amount carry out the
same procedure with a "flash meter and pop your strobe three times!"
Of course while facing east as the sun is setting!

If you don't have any reading you will be disappointed to find, you have
just plain good old fashion un pre-flashed exposures. :)
