Dick,

Sorry to hear about this, but I understand. Sometimes the old pack horse
just gets tired! I'm beginning to reduce the amount I carry more and more
as time goes by.

About the passport. I've never heard of Leica refusing Passport service on
a piece of equipment that is less than three years old. If there is a
problem... as long as the new owner uses "Richard Hemmingway" as the name,
if needing passport repairs, well... that should solve the problem. I think
Leica will not hassle anyone over a passport repair. Perhaps if you send in
the scrap of metal that contains the serial number and ask for a new
camera, you might encounter a little static. But for faults due to
workmanship or attrition (probably hard to do), I cannot imagine a problem.
I guess I could be wrong though.
