I am of the opinion that these 'all in one' shutter/apperture devices
are inferior to a separate diaphram and shutter. 

I suspect that the shutter efficiency is lower than a separate shutter
mechanism.  I think the real reason they are used on so many P&S cameras
is lower cost.

Anyone know some facts on this topic?
