Tim, welcome. I suggest you have your 90 f/2 checked out by a good repair person before 
you spend money on a new lens or trade. While some here will recommend the 2.8, the 
Summicron is a very fine lens. As Ted would say, it beats the heck out of the Elmarit 
at f/2 ;). I recently had my Summicron adjusted by Leica NJ because of softness at full 
aperature.  An element apparently had shifted slightly out of place. Now it's plenty 
sharp again.
