Subject: [Leica] M-Grip and others

Hi ,

I'm looking here in Europe for the silver M-Grip made in US.
Does anybody have an idea, where to get this for a good price? I have the
Leica one, but this is black and don't fit on my M2 and M4P (both chrome). I
saw it in Japan but for around 200 DM, in London it is the same price. This
means double the price of the Leica one.

I'm not actually a collector or rare items, so maybe I have something to
sell for real collectors.
I own a M 2./90mm lens build in 1977, but new version. This version is on
the market since 1981. Leica made a pre production of 200 pcs. Solms
confimed this and the lens is in the factory now to be checked.
If anybody is interested in this lens, please let me know. I want to swap it
for other lenses.

BTW, I found a very good company in Germany for Leica Service. As far as I
understood, they repair things that Leica is not longer doing. I'm totally
satisfied and can recommend it. The company name is Grah Optics in Duisburg,
near Düsseldorf or Cologne, Tel. Germany 49 203 21327, Fax 49 203 27512.
They just repaired my CL. It got a new electronic board and together with
cleaning and adjusting of erverything it was below 200 DM.

I also heard a rumor here in Germany, that Leica is planning to do new font
lenses for old Summicron col. I have one and it has many cleaning marks. I
never saw one of this without cleaning marks, so I guess more Leica users
could be happy to get a new front lens. I'll let you know if I can get more
information. (Sometimes it helps to live near Solms ;-)

Best Regards
