The 3rd generation 35's is very good. It is not as snappy as the latest 35 but in most cases it is not going to make adifference. The correct hood for this lens is the same hood that the old Summilux 35/1,4 uses. This is the one with the Series filter holder in it. It is a good hood except that the "shade" part has a tendency to unscrew. The 35/50 hood that you got with the lens is OK and should not vignet even at f/16. Good deal for a M2 and a 35/2. Tom A
