I agree, in that the Noctilux is an excellent performer at all apertures.
But a _heavy_ ND filter (16x?) is still useful.  The Noctilux (and to
a slightly lesser degree the 75mm Summilux) are _wonderful_ wide open
in daylight because of the shallow depth of field.  The effect is very
similar to stereo ...
