The contrast and resolution are amazing for a Japanese lens. The 24mm 2.8 Nikkor is a standout lens for Nikon. I've seen pictures taken with it on Kodachrome that made my 24mm Elmarit look a bit "weak." I don't know how better to explain it. It's a superb lens. On the other hand, the 24mm Elmarit does have the Leica "look" as far as color rendition in concerned. I know it's mostly made by Minolta, but I suspect they coat it differently than their own lens. I would still choose the Leica over the Nikon. But I think it's a lens that needs updating. Now they have the 24 ASPH in the M line, I suspect it's only a matter of time. ========== Eric Welch St. Joseph, MO http://www.ponyexpress.net/~ewelch I am Homer of Borg, prepare to be assim...ooh, donuts!
