Ted,
Well money is always an object but in this case I am will to save for what
ever it takes. Thanks for the information. I am looking for something to go
along with my new M system. My current Nikon system includes the following:
16 2.8 AF Fisheye.... kind of a toy buy it is sometimes usefull
18 2.8 AF.... I really do love wide angles
20-35 2.8 AF
35-70 2.8 AF... (Nice opticds but I am not super fond of using it manually)
80-200 2.8 AF (Kind of the same as 35-70)
85 1.4 AF A wonderful lens that I am beginning to use more and more
200 2.8 AF Micro. I like the background controll for macro work
300 4 AF
500 4
Nikon F5 bodies
I probably am not going to try to change over all at once but I have a hunch
that once I get hooked on the Leica glass I will be hopeless lost. I do find
that the Auto Focus is usefull for taking pictures of my children in sports but
I spend most of my photo time taking landscapes, flower closeups, and now more
and more people around me. I respect your opinion and I guess that a better
question would be to ask is what lenses are people using and why. I know that
all of the lenses have their place but in the real world some lenses become
legends. Hey if I am going to save up, I would rather spend my money on the
legends. :-) Thanks for your help. Which lenses do you find that you
currently use more often than the others. Hey... while I am at it what lenses
do you find the most usefull for the M as well. I currently have the 35 and 50
Sumacrons and the 90 Elmar. I have found that I really do use all of them. I
am lusting after a 50 Noctilux and know it is only a matter of time before I
get one. Again thanks for all of your time.... I really appreciate your wisdom
on the subject.
