RE: Leica M6 vs nikon FM/FM2

Interesting perspective. Thank you

For me though, I think I did ask the right question. Both cameras are small 
and rugged. I am wondering mainly if for my use the image quality would be 
greatly different beween machines. I think my sense of taking pictures 
would not change with either camera, or the way I do it. Each machine has 
its limits, and they are somewhat different. i think the M6 can shoot lower 
light probably more consistantly with less blur. But then the FM2 can take 
a micro lens...etc.. So It is a little give and take for me. For now, 
though, I'll hang onto my M6. I am getting better with it!

To my mind the FM would take the gaff. But you're asking the wrong 
question.
You don't choose an M Leica because of its ruggedness. You choose it 
because
of its RF design and the type of photography that issues from that direct
approach.

I use my Nikon FM when I want to do some fixed position work, such as
close-up, use zoom lenses, or a studied landscape -- where I want to 
preview
DOF. When I do urban subjects, want to work fast, work unobtrusively, and 
wax
intuitive, I use an M Leica.
