Hi Jay,

I think Tom can answer that better than I, as he did some extensive testing
earlier this year comparing 180 2.8: 180 3.4: and the 70-180.

Off the top, I'd say the 70-180 is better. But that isn't a technical
answer, just a gut feeling from what I've seen from both lenses.
