Paul, I can give you only a few words of advice on this lens! If you have
the money, "GET IT!" You'll not be disappointed and as far as Leica "Hyping
it" I don't think they done it justice!

Other members on the LUG have them and their re-actions are the same. For
my 4 decades of being into Lieca cameras and lenses, this one ranks right
up at the top for quality and first class image cutting on film.

'L' zoom lenses from Nikon or Canon.>>>>>>>

I agree, but don't waste your money on them as this is a pure case of
"cheap isn't better!" For example the 70-180 set at 100mm has the same
crisp glowing mage creation on film as the 100 2.8 macro. And that alone
attests to the quality of the glass.

There isn't any question, that when the Germans get their act to-gether and
rely and produce on their own turf the quality is outstanding. They seem to
always get into trouble when they get into "cost cutting" deals with other
countries manufacturers.

Bottom line. Don't ask any more questions, just go get the lens and become
inspired and broke at the same time! :) This is a lens way beyond what
others have available at cheper prices. Absolutely no question no
