Caputo is a Pulitzer winning journalist who wrote for the Chicago Trib, I think, and was a Marine Lt. in Vietnam, and was a journalist covering the fall of Saigon in Vietnam after his tour was up. Because of this he is able to give a fairly accurate view of life in that realm. A very good read. His other books, A Rumor of War (His story while serving as a Marine in Vietnam), and Means of Escape, are also very good. They do not relate to photography, but any one who has ever worked as a journalist, photo or otherwise would enjoy them. During his time as a foreign correspondent he was held hostage by the Loony Tunes in Beirut, covered the 7 days war in Israel, covered the Mob in Chicago, and hiked into Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion.
