I'm not sure, I may have dreamt this, but I have the vague recollection of
someone saying that the hood with fitting cap that comes with the 35mm
Summicron Aspherical can also be used on the pre-Asph 35mm Summicron.
Can anyone substantiate that? I'd like to know myself.

The current 28mm M lens (46mm thread) has a hood that has a fitting cap.
I've recently changed from the type 3 to the current one and this makes a
big difference to using the lens. They should have thought of this years ago.

Failing getting a hood that takes a cap on the front, a soft elasticated
dust cover might be improvised based on the design principles of the shower
cap. Sounds terrible but it might actually work.
