Subject: Buying an M6...

I've been given the go-ahead by my wedded inexorable
financial eminence (or "wife" for short!) that I can invest
further in Leica equipment on the understanding that it
is just that - an investment. I'd like to plump for an M6
with either a 35 Summicron or Summilux. What would
be the best investment, ie what would retain its value
or preferably appreciate in value? Would I be better
off going for mint secondhand or new, bearing in mind
that I intend to use the equipment (very carefully!)?
Which of the black, chrome or titanium bodies retain
value best? Would the Summicron be better than the
Summilux?

I guess what I'm asking is what would a collector be
most interested in, even though I intend to be a user?
Incidentally I always treat my equipment with the
greatest of care and would maintain it in mint condition.

I don't want to go for anything like a gold M6 as I wouldn't
want to use that, but I guess a special edition engraved
body is not out of the question if I can find one.

I don't want to let this opportunity slip, so I want to be
able to present the best possible case to "the boss"!

Simon.
