In the G2 section of today's edition of "The Guardian" ( a UK broadsheet
newspaper) there is an article about the history and current state of the
famous photography agency "Magnum". On the front cover of the
section is a full page portrait of Henri Cartier-Bresson taken in January
1957 by Jane Bown. The great man is pictured peering into the
viewfinder of an M3 (given the stated date it must have been an early
edition).
Within the article there is a description of the somewhat chaotic Paris
general meeting of 1996 at which: ".......no one could mistake this was a
conclave of photographers: many had Leicas hanging round their necks
and amused themselves by taking pictures of each other."
All this Leica lore for point four five of a UK pound!
Cheers
Bob
