Subject: Re: German Hologon Conversion

A camera shop in Osaka, Matsubara Koki, advertises a Contax G to Leica
M-mount adapter for 55,000 yen (US$460). They list 3 different ones
for the 16/21/28mm wide angles. An adapter, if it really works, seems
like a better idea to me---the less surgery, the better. =20

Chikuma Shokai in Tokyo is advertising the 16mm Hologon converted to
Leica M-mount for 280,000 yen (US$2,300---this includes lens, finder
and gradation filter), as well as the 28mm Biogon converted to Leica
L-mount for 98,000 yen (US$800---finder, hood and L-M adapter extra).

No details included in either ad regarding meter useage, infinity
focusing, whether these are done in Japan, etc. I could check if your
friend is interested. I might check on the G-M adapter
anyway---sounds intriguing.
