There is no need to be skeptical about 'bokeh'.

Just take photographs of things that are not in focus and see for
yourself if you like the way a lens blurs.  Its as simple as that.

For most people working wide open there is going to be at least 50% of
an image surface (if not more) out of focus so why not take notice of
the quality of out of focus areas.  It makes photo + graphic sense and
its far from mysterious.
