The remaining Hektor of the 6 that I had is black with shark-skin trim
instead
of the usual vulcanite trim. It is rare when compared to other Hektors (all
things
being equal) but not so rare that the price is high, since I have it offered
at $140.
Roy Moss told me that he had paid over $200 for his, some years back.
The serial #656574 would place it being made in 1948 at the same time that
Leitz, Wetzlar was using the so called "shark or fish skin vulcanite" on
their
IIICs. I will probably be getting so many calls on it now that I will offer
it to
the highest bidder (LOL).
