Subject: M lens adjust?

Many moons ago, I thought I'd read that upon purchase of a new, passported
M, Leica service USA would fine tune the r'finder cams on any existing M
lenses one might own, to the new body.

Today I spoke with Ernie, at Leica service. The upshot is that they will
adjust ones lenses, but it'll take 4 weeks min. and cost a minimum of $40 a
lens.

Is the above in line with everyones experience?
