R8 : amazingly easy to use, it is the first time that I feel so comfortab= le with a new camera and so quickly. In the multi-zones mode, perfect exposition except when there is somethin= g to clear in the middle like: white rose with green around, a clear path with grass on both sides= etc.. 80-200/4: reall nice to use, very easy to focus, minimum focusing distanc= e of 1,1m very convenient, slides very crisp and contrasty. R8 + 80-200 =3D well balanced, not to heavy. (my advice to Ted: sell your= 70-180 and buy a 80-200 :-) ) F5 : AF great, but I had to lock the focusing zone in the middle of the screen. Multi-zone =3D perfect. (even with the white rose!) Great : the possibility to lock the exposure in all modes. But the camera is not so easy to use, it's confusing. And you don't have the possibility to remove the motor. For a trip, it is a heavy camera. 80-200/2,8 : Heavy, fast, crisp, no lens hood include, minimum focusing distance of 1,5m less convenient. F5 + 80-200 =3D not a snap shot camera. (but easier to use than a R8 + MO= TOR + 70-180/2,8 APO I suppose) Summicron 35/2 ASPH.: as easy to use than the former 35/2. Rubber cap on lens hood just great. Less flare, some ghost image with the sun in the middle of the image but without softening the image. (great improvement !) Conclusion, I don't miss my R7 one second, and you don't have to be jealo= us of the F5. And I don't think I will use a lot my 35/1,4 ASPH. anymore. (Phew ! something to trade in the future) N.B. Something missing in the R system is a 20-35/2,8 ASPH. and a 35-90/2= ,8 APO . Lucien BELGIUM N.B. (2) Fortunately, my English teatcher don't read this.
