Harold,

I have a 28mm M-Rokkor. It is a nice performer, however, it does not have
the contrast that the current 28 Elmarit (which is superb) has. I use it
on a CL together with a viewfinder. It brings up the 35mm framelines in
the M's. This can be modified by adding two or three mm's to the lug on
the lens mount that adjusts the internal VF.

There is one problem that I have seen on many a 28 M-Rokkor. After a
period of time, the inner surface of the front element has a coating of
uniformly spaced fine dots. If my memory serves me, it is because of the
mineral content in the paint used in the interior of the lens which is
leached out by entrapped humidity. Another disturbing, although
inconsequential, finding is the appearance of separation of the first two
elements of the lens. The seam is more apparent because of the steepness
of the peripheral angle.

I like it for its size--half that of an Elmarit. I usually shoot B&W with it.
