Subject: Re: Polaroid back

I had private e-mail asking about the NPC Polaroid back for the Leica R
cameras. Since the Polaroid subject is still alive, I might as well post
this for those in the LUG with R cameras.

It's called the NPC PROBACK by Forscher (Marty Forscher.) Their address is:

NPC Photo Division
1238 Chestnut St.
Newton, MA (I don't know the zip)

Most pro dealers handle NCP equipment.

It uses Polaroid 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 film packs, 2 packs per box, eight photos
per pack. You can take two 35mm photos per Polaroid sheet. They are small
but you can easily use them for lighting and composition checks. When you
remove the back from the camera (after the check) you ruin one sheet. You
can attach and remove the back in a dark bag, and leave the back in the
bag, and save the sheet. The best is to have an old R body and leave the
back mounted. Use this body for checks only.
