I've had one of these lenses since they came out. Actually, I used a loaner
for a week, before they were available which prompted me to buy one. It is
very sharp but most of my work is at an aperture other than wide open.
There is no cutoff with full shift, even with filters. You have to buy
special B+W filters for this lens. The body of the lens actually covers the
filter threads at infinity and allows only filters with very thin threads
to be used. The filters also have to be wide angle filters so the shift
won't cut-off. The B+W 67EW (Extra Wide) filters work. The lens hood also
holds frameless (all glass) filters, also made by B+W. I use a 67EW
polarizer. The outside threads of the 67EW is 86mm. I use an 86EW KR3 or
KR6 if I also need a warming filter. If I want only a warming filter, I use
a all glass KR3 or KR6 in the lens shade. Turns out that the filter threads
on the lenses for my 4x5 Linhof are 67mm and 86mm. I bought the LF lenses
after I had the 28mm PC lens so I was lucky, didn't have to double-up on
filters. I made a 67mm to 77mm step-up ring with thin 67mm threads so I can
use the HI-TECH or Cokin-P filter holder. This is a great lens. I would buy
it again. Don't forget to stop down before you shoot...
