Subject: Oriental Leica-Mount Lenses
From: Marc James Small <msmall@roanoke.infi.net>

I have just had forwarded from my German publisher a Fax from an anonymous
Japanese source listing the following Japanese lenses in Leica mount. (The
author indicates these are all Leica thread-mount, though I had thought
some, if not all, were in M mount):

3.5/28 Avenon (marketed in the US already by Adorama)
2.8/21 Avenon (marketed in the US already by Adorama)
2/35 Hexanon (1000 marketed in 1996)
2.4/50 collapsible Hexanon (marketed in April, 1997)
2.8/28 Ricoh GR 1 (will be marketed in May, 1997, 2000 in chrome, 1000 in
black)

There is no mention of the Asanumi 21mm and 28mm lenses as announced at
Photokina 1994. Perhaps these are the Avenon lenses listed above.

This information confirms what has already been posted here recently on
this subject.
