I shot pictures of the comet in the city, but towards a dark portion of the
sky (It's a good thing the comet chose the same portion of the sky to
appear; sorry Fred for the attempt at humour ;-)), using Fuji 800 film. I
tried a 200mm lens at openings of 2.8 and 4, and an 85mm at 1.4 and 2.8.
The best exposures seemed to be about 20 sec at 2.8. Any more than that, I
started to see too much start trailing. If I had a clock drive on my
tripod, longer exposures would have been possible, except that the
brightness of the city sky creates a limit as too how far I could go. I
think that 1 min. would have been the maximum possible.
