This person had a point. If what we really like about our Leicas is the quality of their construction, machining, etc., then that's fine. Guns, pens, audio, all of these boys toys are a hell of a lot of fun. I like most of them too. What's interesting to me, however, about this spirited defense of the gun thread on a Leica list is that some of the folks that think guns are a valid topic here seemed to have a major problem with a guy like Oddmund who wants to lay HIS passion on us too. If you're going to tolerate (if not enjoy) the gun thread, then you have to tolerate (if not enjoy) the philosophical threads. I challenge anyone on this list to make a logical and convincing argument that either guns are more or less acceptable on this list than Oddmund's stuff. If you'd rather talk about guns here than philosophy, fine. But I don't buy anyone telling me that one is ok and the other is not (not that anyone has, yet). John McLeod
