the flag shows up at different shutter speeds depending on the asa.  
centering the flag in the top vf cutout readies you to do a battery 
check, the little silver button next to the lens.

sorry to hear you're having accuracy problems - is it perhaps that the 
meter is still calabrated for the older 625/px-13 1.5 volt and not the 
new pain in the butt 1.35.  I'm in the middle of figuring new asa's 
without expensive recalibration by a technician.  at any rate, good luck 
- - no extra back eh?
