I was in Solmes in June of 95 and had a similar experience.  I had a rental
car and drove in.  The people at Leica found me a bed & breakfast to stay at.

I wrote an article on my trip and sent it to LHSA hopefully to be published
in the Viewfinder.  Two editors have had the article for 14 months now and
it has not been published.  I do not believe that I am that bad a writer.
If it is ever published it should be under a heading of ancient history
rather than news.
