Before this thread came about I built many a pinholer out of oatmeal boxes.
Problem is, today's oat box has a plastic lid instead of the cardboard
slip-on lid of days past.

The ultimate pinhole cam used to sit on the Santa Monica Pier. It was a
twelve foot high cylinder that spun on roller bearings and allowed folks to
get inside and tape photo paper to the wall across from the pinhole. You
could change the hole via a set of boards with varying diameter pinholes,
much like the lens board on a view camera. It was free and also functioned
as a camera obscura for those people wanting to trace images on paper. It
began to serve as a shelter for homeless people and the city (presumably)
removed it.
