The 90mm Elmar-C is an f4 lens. It 'may' work on a 135/f4. Try it! :-)
The 5.5 refers to the filter type the lens was designed to use. The lens hood
serves to hold a Series 5.5 filter in place. The Series 5.5 filters can be
just a little difficult to find but they do pop up at camera shows from time to
time. From what I understand the threads for the 90mm Elmar-C and the
40mm Sumicron-C are just slightly different from the standard 39mm filter
threads used on a lot of M series lenses. The two are close enough to allow
them to screw together but different enough to make them bind before they
are fully seated. Did you get the lens cap too? It is a nice flat cap that snaps
on very tightly and keeps the hood folded back.

Was the aperture 5.5 on that CL lens? will this hood be ok on a 90/4 or
