LUGs,

I have just finished a printing session. In fact, I just finished printing a
photograph of my daughter taken using the light of a 60-Watt bulb and many
X-mas light, which appear in the background. I used Kodak Tmax3200 exposed
at ASA 1000 and developed in Tmax developer.

I must say that I am very pleased with the results. My old Wetzlar 50mm
Summicron (type 2) was was used wide open and supported on a monopod while
my daughter played the flute. Her face is extremely sharp and shows very
decent tone detail. The small lights in the background are beautifully
washed out and there is no coma or flare. This is a tribute to a lens that
was designed in the 60s with computers like the IBM 1130.

Incidentally, I do my own B&W printing on Kodak VC paper. It is really great
fun. For some reason, I seem to get more consistent results than on Ilford
materials. Can someone shed some light on this. What am I doing wrong?

Best of Light,

Chris
