Subject: Loose M6 Range-viewfinder eyepiece

 Nick,
I shoot 3200 in my M6 all the time, usually, light permitting at 1600. I
recall having a similar experience not long after I got my camera. In my
case, the battery that was supplied with the camera was about spent and a
new one resolved the problem. In my opinion the M6 meter is outstanding in
any light. Perhaps the shutter was'nt cocked as it must be for the meter to
work. The LEDs quit about 16 seconds after they are activated as well. I
can't imagine a situation short of almost total darkness where you would not
get a reading at 1 sec. at f2 with 6400 film. Try replacing the battery.
Good luck. =20
