This isn't QUITE correct. Stan Tamarkin, who has been one of THE big
boosters of LHSA throughout its life and who has always sponsored a
reception at the Annual Meeting, chose to conduct an auction which
conflicted with a small portion of the LHSA meeting. He tried to get LHSA
to work WITH him, and they refused. The auction was, by all accounts, a
grand success. The LHSA functions during the auction were, by all accounts,
dismally attended. Q.E.D.

I hardly feel Stan 'took advantage' of LHSA! It was an opportunity that
LHSA was too small to recognize as such.
