I do not know about R5 or Minolta connections, but Sunpak Units with 
MX-2d moduals provide TTL flash metering for the CLE.  Set the Speed Dial 
to "A".  Also, Metz units with an SCA 331 Modual also provide TTL.  
Minolta also made an "Auto CLE" unit but it was a toy.  Sunpak and Metz 
work fine.  Ed K.
