Just to add that Leica, unlike most cameras, is not a sunk cost, but an
investment.... If history is an indicator, the investment may even be a better
hedge against inflation than the stock market. And to boot, you get to use
the investment rather than hiding it in a vault or just hanging it on a
wall. --Brian Levy

I agree totally! I'm a professional investor, and have noticed how
used quality cameras (Leica, Nikon) have actually appreciated in price.
I was surprised at first, but upon reflection, impressed.
When quality used and usable equipment appreciates, that says
a lot about what it is capable of doing in the right hands.

Oh, by the way, if 'sinking a lot of money' into a camera system
bothers you, maybe you should look at an alternate brand which may cost far
less. I think that most will agree that acquiring a Leica system is not for
the tight fisted.

My flip comment about "sinking a lot of money" into a system was NOT
meant as a whine or complaint. It was my way of saying that I
am willing to invest in the "right" stuff, and pay what is necessary.
My point was that as this is a serious amount of money, I want to
be serious about my decision-making process, and the images I capture.
