Subject: R8 mount/lens contacts?

The Leica web site says the R8 utilizes the "LEICA R-bayonet with
additional electrical contacts." Any ideas on the purpose of these 8
new contacts? I could understand communicating info on aperture, but
it looks like the f-stop window is still present. Maybe they're for
electronic aperture control, and new lenses won't use cams. Do the
lenses just released have reciprocal contact points? Is there a
possibility of focal length communication, or maybe a hint of some AF
ability to come?

The auto film-load and auto-bracketing features are welcome additions.
I don't understand how auto film load works without the motor.
Ha--maybe it's really just an APS camera!

Cheers,
