I am considering the purchase of a defaced Luftwaffen IIIC. Does anyone	
on the list know of a good method to check the authenticity? This
particular camera does have FI number on top. Could this number be
traced in some way? Does the fact that the "Luftwaffen Eigentum" has
been completely removed add any credibility?

Any information, even general discussion from those with experience in 
this area, would be much appreciated.
