I'm simply asking why Leica is used as a >feminine word in French, and flash as a masculin one. No problem, except getting an answer. That question could be asked of any language that attaches gender to their nouns. I don't think any logic prevails, does it? Isn't it merely custom and usage that prevails? Of course, next you ask, how did custom come about? AARRRRRGGHHH! -- Roger Beamon, Natural History Interpreter & Photographer Docent: Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum INTERNET: beamon@primenet.com
