Yes, production was shifted during the latter part of '87, though I haven't
the precise dates at hand.  Leica had to move from Wetzlar, as the plant was
elderly and in dire need of repairs.  A small factory had gone out of
business a few miles away and Leica bought what Americans would call a
'shell building' as the Solms plant.

A thousand possibilities exist, as well, for the lack of engraving and the
Leica rondel -- repairs, replaced top deck, &c &c.
