The arguments are nonsense.  I have been using condensor for 35 years and
consistently achieve tremendous high value separation...at about 1 grade
lower than with a cold light.  While this is a response from a rather
empirical methodology, I would direct you to read what Howard Bond says
about the issue in the Jul/Aug 1995 issue of "Darkroom and Creative Camera
Techniques," page 17.  Think he finally lays this issue to rest...hopefully
once and for all!
