But then he reaches the incorrect conclusion! When I was shopping a year ago, my $'s went to a M6 rather than a G1 because of the silly auto- as well as manual focusing scheme employed on the G1. It's slow (in auto) and hard to use "manually" (one turns a focusing know which is an electrical pot or equivalent that adjusts the focusing motors. Ridiculous! Further, I recall that there are no depth-of-field markings on the lenses. And speaking of that, there are only four available. But OK. as of now, I only own two of Leica's! And while I hate the viewfinder of the M6 when using short focal length lenses, the viewfinder of the G1 is really bad for a bespectacled me. And the above are in addition to the points Charles identified in his posting: Noisy; batteries a must; limited options. Someone in this Users Group wondered whether anyone at Leica was reading this list of suggestions/recommendations for the Futura-M6+. No way to know if they're lurking out there. But I'll bet anything that the camera designers in Japan are. -- Best wishes, -- Wolfgang =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Wolfgang Sachse Cornell University sachse@msc.cornell.edu http://www.msc.cornell.edu/~sachse =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
